The Wornick company During the period of Veritas’ ownership, Wornick specialized in the production, packaging, and distribution of extended shelf-life, shelf-stable (“thermostabilized”) and frozen foods. The company had over 30 years of experience in food manufacturing, food processing, and developing and producing meal solutions for military, consumer, and foodservice markets. Wornick’s products included a range of military food rations including MREs (Meals Ready-to-Eat) utilized by American troops in the early days of their deployment in foreign theatres of operation, ready-to-eat meals for humanitarian operations and special situations, and thermostabilized foods manufactured for commercial branded food companies.
